Standard Terms and Conditions

Where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or The Fair Trading Act 1986 applies, nothing in the standard terms and conditions shall remove or modify your rights under either of these acts.

There is no cover for any claim attributable either wholly or in part to:

• Any repairs or replacements commenced or conducted on your vehicle without Mount Autos prior authorisation.
• Damage to panel work, paint work, glass, trim, upholstery, wheels, tyres, or any cosmetic items.
• Any costs of routine maintenance, adjustments, tuning, software updates and servicing recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer for that make and model, to be conducted at specific mileage or time intervals.
• Any breakdown or fault because of you not following your vehicle manufacturer's operating, servicing, and safety instructions.
• Any breakdown or damage caused by you because of neglect, misuse, abuse or not taking all reasonable precautions, that it would be reasonable to expect a person to take in the circumstances, to prevent damage to your vehicle and its components.
• Any breakdown or fault because of your vehicle being involved in an accident.
• Any breakdown or fault subject to recall or withdrawal by your vehicle's manufacturer or a regulatory authority.
• Any breakdown or fault caused by using incorrect fuel, oil, lubricant, coolant, or any other fluid outside of your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
• Any breakdown or fault where the odometer has been tampered with, altered, or disconnected.
• Any costs arising from the continuous operation of your vehicle after the breakdown or fault has occurred, including loss of oil, lubricant, coolant, or any other fluid.
• Any costs arising from the misdiagnosis of a breakdown or fault.
• Any damage related to incorrect towing or transporting of your vehicle.
• Any breakdown or fault caused by insects, rodents, contamination, frost, water, fire, atmospheric conditions, or other external forces.
• Any breakdown or fault caused by any reckless, deliberate, or wilful act, or knowingly allowing or permitting anyone else to cause damage or liability this way.
